One of the reasons we moved to South Carolina was to get out of the icky Utah weather. We LOVE the weather here in the South. We get maybe one snow storm a year and it only lasts about one day. We have been told that occasionally this area will get an ice storm. On Saturday, we learned first hand what an ice storm is all about. Everything was covered in ice, and I mean everything. It was not as much fun to play in as snow, but the kids still had some fun.
My Japanese Maple covered in ice.
This may look like snow. It is not, it is about 1 1/2 of ice.
Frozen bird feeder and bird seed.
The coolest part of this storm was early Saturday when I was outside. The wind was blowing some trees. It sounded like they were breaking or crackling. It was really cool. Tomorrow I will post some photos of the kids.
Wow, beautiful! When I came home from LA last week, from El Paso to Fredricksburg was covered in snow. It was gorgeous! We could only go 40 mph in an 80 mph zone, but we had great scenery to see all the way!

We haven't had an ice storm this year, but a couple of years ago we did and our favorite part was the frozen basketball net. I don't have a picture, but it looked as if it were made of crystal. Pretty cool!
