STORMY WEATHER!

The one thing I do not like about living in South Carolina is the tornadoes! A couple of weeks ago, we were once again under a warning or a watch. Sorry, I cannot remember the difference between the two. All I know is that a tornado was spotted near Converse College where Mitchell was suppose to be at his voice lesson. Thank goodness he had switched days that week. I took  few photos of the sky around our house.

FLUTTER!

I have had so much fun watching my hummingbirds this summer. I did not think we would have many since it has been so hot. On the contrary, we have had more than we can count. Enjoy!

I wish I could have captured a photo when there were more than three of them. They fight each other for each feeder. So fun to watch. Have a great weekend! We are heading to Gainesville, GA for a Lacrosse tournament!

SILVER LINING

On Saturday, after Mitchell's first day of the LAX tournament, Vinny and rode home with some friends since Charlie and Mitchell were spending the night. On the way home, we saw this amazing cloud. At first, I thought it was lightning. I took it as a reminder that God was with us.

I found this guy on the outside (thank goodness it was not inside) of our house last week! Thank goodness it was on the same day the bug man was coming.

A few years ago, Charlie's daughter, Megan and her family, went in with us to purchase Charlie a Magnolia Tree for his birthday. It now produces the most amazing flowers! I had to share a few photos with you...

FROZEN ICE CREAM!

Just kidding. its not ice cream, as you'll see by the pictures. It does look strangely edible though. Its actually frozen mud. it just looked really really cool.

SUNSET~

On Saturday I was outside reading when I noticed that the sky was turning the most beautiful colors. I thought I would share how beautiful the sunset was.

Looking West. I always thought that Salt Lake had beautiful sunsets. Living in the country and in the south the sunsets are just as beautiful and what is even better than Salt Lake is how close I feel to the colors. In Salt Lake the sunset was so far away. Here in SC the sunset appears to be everywhere, almost like I can reach out and touch it.

THE BIRDS~

I am happy to report that Charlie's daughter Bryan gave birth to a healthy and undoubtedly beautiful baby boy yesterday! Welcome Gregory James Swingle.

Last week when we were receiving the remnants of Hurricane Ida, Charlie asked me to look out at our front lawn. Here is what I saw...

You can click on the image to make it larger. If you look closely, you will see the black birds. There were at least 100 spread across our front lawn. I suppose with all of the rain we had been receiving worms had come up to the surface. The sound of the birds was a little scary. I felt like I was in the middle of the movie, The Birds.

THE PERFECT FALL DAY~

This past Saturday we had a few extra children here since they had spent the night on Friday. I thought it would be a good time to take care of the leaves in our front yard. The kids were more than willing to help out. Since there were so many of them, 6 to be exact (Patrick was taking the SAT) it only took them about 15 minutes. I had already blown them into a pile. I am writing this post on Tuesday and it is windy and cold. We are experiencing the aftermath of Hurricane Ida. I wish it was Saturday again.

SORRY TREE HUGGERS~

When we moved into our house there was a Holly Tree in front of our kitchen window. I hated it. It is so hard to trim and if it is not trimmed it looks terrible. It is also full of spiders. Here is what it looked like...

Yes, I cut it down. Well, Patrick cut it down for me. Here is the space where it was. I am so happy that we can now see out the kitchen window.

I know many of you will be upset with me for cutting down this bush/tree. Well, all I can say is I am sorry!
