CRAZY, CRAZY DAY!

It is now 2:00 am on Thursday and I should be posting about my adorable son Patrick's birthday. Instead, I am going to let you enjoy two short videos from his concert last night. None of the tenors showed up and only four of the boys who sing bass. Two of the teachers had to sing the tenor parts of this fun song.

Tomorrow I will do a nice post about my now 17 year old son. I hope you enjoy the videos. I apologize if they appear a little shaky. I need to bring my tripod to the concerts. Next year I vow to do that. Enjoy!

The song is called Jabula Jesu. What you cannot see is that the girls are all facing backwards and they slowly turn around as their parts are song. It was really a fun song.

STRING FLING PART 2

As promised, here are the last two videos from the String Fling concert. These videos are of the entire group playing 'AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL'. It truly was beautiful to hear and of course it made me cry. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

STRING FLING

On Monday evening our school district held an Orchestra Concert called 'STRING FLING'. The concert consisted of the 9 Elementary Schools, three middle schools and our one High School. Vinny started playing the Viola this past fall and is part of the Roebuck Elementary School Orchestra. The Orchestra teacher, Ms. Amy Strahm, is simply amazing! What she has been able to accomplish with these 5th graders working with them for only 45 minutes twice a week is astonishing. Here are a couple of photos of Vinny from the concert...

Now, I have a few videos to post. I am only going to post the first two tonight and save the last two for my next post. The first song is 'French Folk Song' and the second is 'Get Ready, Get Set, Bow!'

MY FAVORITE NEW HAPPY SONG!

Everyone needs a happy song. I have a new one! I heard this on the Altogether Too Happy blog. I keep playing it over and over again. I have played it for the kids who were not as impresses as I was. I thought I would share it with you.

GRANDPA'S TURN

Grandpa Charlie got a few minutes alone with Catherine. He cannot pick her up due to his hernia making a return appearance. So, he either had to settle for someone putting her on his lap or getting down on her level to play with her. For those of you that know Charlie, he can be a little bit of a goof ball. That is actually part of what makes him a great dad and a great grandpa.

She is looking at him like he has lost his marbles.

 

She is now looking for someone to get her away from this silly man.

 

That is much better.

 

This is the face she makes while trying to sleep and her mom is attempting to clean out her tiny nose. Here nose and upper lip are still quite sensitive from her surgery.

Vinny was in Atlanta with us and did spend some time with Catherine. I just do not have any photos to prove it.

Now, for a little musical entertainment, I present James singing "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" to Catherine. This video is 3 minutes. We tried to cut it down and could not so just watch a little of it if you don't want to watch the whole thing.
