JUST WHEN I THOUGHT MY HEADACHES WERE GONE..

Charlie goes and buys Mitchell a set of these....

 

Mitchell has always wanted to learn how to play the drums. He is constantly playing with drum sticks on either the furniture, the floor or his legs. When we were in New Orleans and he had the opportunity to play on a real set of drums, we realized that the kid actually has potential. So, Charlie started to check Craig's List and finally found a great set at an incredible price. Here they are setting them up...

And here he is today after downloading some Drum Tabs off of the internet and teaching himself how to play them.

Not bad if I do say so myself. Now I just need to find myself some good ear plugs.

WHERE IN THE WORLD ARE WE?

   It is Spring Break in South Carolina and we are suppose to be in New Hampshire visiting Charlie's daughter Bryan. Unfortunately, Vinny was exposed to Fifths Disease and Bryan is 7 weeks pregnant. Fifth's Disease is not harmful to children or even adults. It can however cause miscarriage in the first trimester of a pregnancy. So, we decided it was clearly not worth the risk of exposing Bryan and canceled our plans. We did end up making other last minute plans. I will post about those plans when we get home. I am just having too much fun to take the time to edit photos right now. I will leave you with a few recent photos of Vinny...

 

 

Vinny LOVES to read. She also loves to cook. She has discovered that she can often do both at the same time.

I am not sure if I mentioned that Vinny ended up with Influenza B the day after we arrived home from Barrier Island. She was really sick even though she had a flu shot in the fall. She missed an entire week of school. Milo must have sensed that she was sick since he would not leave her side.

SOMEONE WANTS TO GO TO SCHOOL!

Last week Vinny went to close up her backpack and head off to school when she noticed a little stowaway in her bag. If a there is a bag or purse or hat or anything open Milo will climb in and take a rest. Such a silly kitty...

 

If he is looking for money he is out of luck!

Baci and Milo sharing the cat bed. They are starting to get along a little better. Milo still likes to play a bit rough and Baci only tolerates him for a short time before she loses her patience. The other big problem we have is food. Milo wants to eat Baci's food which is not for kittens and Baci wants to eat Milo's food which is not diet food. We are slowly figuring it all out and enjoy our two kittens.

WHAT'S FOR DINNER

How does a little Milo with a side of corn  sound? Just kidding. One night last week I went outside to call the kids in to wash up for dinner (I sound like Mrs. Walton) and when I came back into the kitchen, this is what I found...

Patrick had set the table and did not pass out the napkins so they are all on his plate. I replaced the napkins but made Patrick still eat from this plate. Don't worry, I did a complete examination of the plate for any stray kitty hair.

I must say that this cat is the silliest, sometimes bordering on strangest cat I have ever known. He loves to sleep in the strangest places. Here is just one example...

 

This is one of Mitchell's hat which was on the floor. Where else would a 12 year old boy put his hat. Milo was asleep when we first spotted him on the hat and then he opened his eyes for the photo shoot. A few minutes later he was off the hat and getting ready to play...

 

Can you read the name on the hat? It is a 'Creature' hat which happens to be a skateboarding company. I think it is a perfect name for a hat where a crazy kitty likes to sleep.

LAZY WEEKEND?

This is how I feel like I spent my weekend. Yes, this is Milo asleep in Mitchell's arms. I did get quite a few things accomplished despite taking at least one nap both Saturday and Sunday. I am on an antibiotic for my first MS related UTI. If you do not know what UTI stands for then guess. Anyway, the medicine makes me tired on top of my already MS fatigue. Here is a quick run down of our weekend.

1: Dusted 1/2 of Rec Room
2: Put felt circles on the bottoms of 15 baskets
3: Cleaned off Scrapbooking table
4: Moved litter tray downstairs which meant a lot of vacuuming.
5: Made two trips to my friends Consignment Store.
6: Played around 20 games of Wii Bowling and made Pro!
7: Did 8 loads of laundry.
8: Went to Michaels for three birthday gifts.
9: Watched the latest Hulk Movie on Voodu.
10: Started packing for Vinny's class trip to Barrier Island (more on that later).

Gosh, no wonder I am so tired. The kids were busy all weekend with sleepovers, birthday parties, and work (Patrick). Saturday night was nice due to Mitchell and Vinny both being gone overnight and Patrick being home. I cannot remember the last time it was just the three of us home alone at the same time. We watched the Hulk and bowled a few games.

Well, I am tired so I think I will get ready for bed. I hope you all had a glorious weekend. Oh, I also wanted to mention that I have a new blogging friend. His name is Matt and his blog is Matt's Little Blog

A LITTLE MILO AND A FEW RANDOM PHOTOS

On Tuesday we took Miss Milo in for her shots and to have her dagger like claws trimmed. We found out that Miss Milo is not a Miss after all. She is a HE. I thought I checked out that area pretty well and was convinced HE was a SHE. Now that we have all gotten used to calling him Milo instead of Baci, we now have to get used to saying HE instead of SHE.

This is Jessica and her boyfriend Warren. Jessica is the one who gave us Milo. Milo just crawled up onto Jessica's chest and fell asleep.

 

I tried to take a few photos of the ice on Tuesday. Here are my attempts...

The photos just do not  do the the cool ice justice. It really was beautiful.

LOOK WHAT THE PAT DRAGGED IN!!!

MEET MISS MILO! Let me tell you how this little princess came to be in our house. Patrick's friend Jessica's cat had kitten's and Patrick fell in love with one of them. Unfortunately it passed away at about a week later. This kitten had been promised to Jessica's little sister. After their other two cats became pregnant, they decided to give this little girl away.

So, on Thursday, Patrick came home from work, holding this little kitty. He immediatly put her in my arms and I was fell head over heals in love with her. I did not think Charlie was going to let us keep her; when he saw her in the morning, he said we could keep her as long as we take care of her. She is 6 weeks old and she is the funniest kitten I have ever seen. I forgot what it was like having a brand new kitten; it is like having an infant. She does not sleep through the night, she is too little to get into the litter box and she loves to snuggle when she it tired.

 

Mitchell is in PURE HEAVEN! We had a hard time coming up with a name for her and then decided on Milo. Milo was our favorite skateboard store in Salt Lake.

 

Milo wants to nurse from Baci which really makes Baci upset. Milo also does not realize that Baci's tail is attached to Baci which really upsets Baci. Milo has her front claws, Baci does not which really upsets Baci. Milo thinks Baci is a friend to play with, and Baci does not know what play is. Needless to say, we are trying to keep them apart.

 

 

She has fallen in love with this pink blanket. When she sleeps she curls into this tiny little ball. I put the phone next to her for reference. If you are wondering why there is a "u" on the phone, it tells us that this phone stays upstairs.

 

This is how Patrick plays with her. He puts her on his lap while he is on the computer.

She closes her eyes and out she goes. Is she not the cutest thing? I have an appointment to get her shots and have her claws trimmed today. I am worried that the vet office will not be open due to this...

 

Yes, that is snow and not just a little snow, we currently have around 4''. At least we have a snow day tomorrow!
