Mitchell and his fellow choir members who were selected to sing in the ACDA Southern Division Honor Choir made the paper the other day. I took a photo to share with you.
Mitchell is in the middle of the back row. If you want to see the photo closer, just click on it. The caption basically says that the students from the Dorman Freshman Campus were selected among over 1000 students who auditioned. Also, our school had the most selected (these 6) out of all the schools in SC! Such an honor!
Guess what?
Vinny made the Dorman HS first JV Girls Lacrosse team. So proud of her. The listing above is alphabetically by first name. Both Vinny and Mitchell will be practicing 5 days a week for an hour and a half each day. Crazy!

On Sunday, I turned 49. This will be the last birthday I celebrate. Next year, I shall celebrate the second anniversary of my 40th birthday. Since I am the photographer in family, there are not many photos from my big day. Mitchell tried to take one of me blowing out my cake candles but it did not work. Oh well, here are the two we did get.
This is the cake. The lady at the bakery told Charlie it was the best tasting cake in the world. Well, it is pretty and if you like Amaretto, then this is the cake for you. I HATE Amaretto. No worries, Charlie loves it and I don't need the calories. I will get plenty of those from the box of Sees Candy my sweet Step Daughter Megan sent me yesterday.
For my gifts, Charlie and the kids got me a new game for the Wii and a Home Depot gift card. Vinny gave me the best gift ever!

It was a great birthday and now I shall live my last year in my 40's with joy, spirit, faith and love!
Mitchell made the 2012 Dorman High School JV Lacrosse team! Not that we had any doubt. The list was posted last night at 8:30 on the locker room door. We went as a family to check it out.
Vinny's Lacrosse tryouts last until Thursday. We won't know her status until Friday!
As you may know, Vinny has decided to play Lacrosse. This will be our school's first year having a girls JV team. Vinny has been practicing with a stick that our friend Jordy let her use. In case you are not aware, girls sticks are different from boys. When we saw that she was serious, we went ahead and ordered her a very nice stick. It arrived on Thursday just in time for tryouts. She was so excited! She would not open the box until Mitchell came downstairs!

When it comes to painting, I am a bit of a perfectionist. I have only hired a painter once and ended up firing him. I am finished with the hall and living room but did have to hire someone to do the stairwell. The ceiling is simply to high to reach, even on a ladder.
When Vinny asked if she could help me with the accent wall, I said yes. I took a couple of photos even though she was not very happy about it. This will be your only sneak peak of the room until I have it put together.

Vinny and Mitchell have Lacrosse tryouts today! Mitchell's only last two days and Vinny's lasts four days. Please say a little prayer that they do well and don't get hurt.
I woke up early to take a couple of photos of Mitchell before he left for Disney World.
Proving he can lift his heavy suitcase with one hand. This suitcase did not survive the trip. It came home with a big rip in the zipper.

Our dear sweet Anna stopped by last Wednesday to say goodbye to us before she headed back to Marquette. We will miss her so much! She will not be home until summer which is simply too long. I took a couple of photos of her with the kids.

Mitchell made it home safely from Disney World Monday night. I did not take any photos with the camera. Now that they are in high school they were not required to stay with an adult chaperon so that means no one to take photos. He took a few with his phone which I hope turned out. Keep your fingers crossed.
When I took Vinny, her friend and the photographer, Katie to the Old Mill, Mitchell tagged along. When Katie was finished shooting the girls, I asked her if she would take a few photos of Mitchell. Since he is having fun at Disney World, I thought I would share the photos of him. I am writing this on Sunday and he will be home Monday night! I cannot wait!
