LAX TOURNAMENT!

The reason Vinny and I were driving to Charlotte when the semi truck's tire hit us, was to see Mitchell play in a Lacrosse Tournament. He is playing on a traveling team, called Carolina Cannons. He is on the U 15 team. They lost all three games and two games on Sunday. He had a great time and learned a lot. His team had only played together at two practices. All of the teams they played have played together for 4 years. So, we did not expect them to win. I took a few photos on Saturday and Charlie took a few on Sunday. Did I mention it was 95 and felt like 105?

Mitchell is the one facing the camera. He is number 23 and wears red and white cleats.

Mitchell plays attack or offense so he is not allowed to go past the 30th yard line until we have the ball. So, he did a lot of standing around. Our team did score once with Mitchell making the assist.

Yes, those are Jesus fish on the opponents shorts. He plays for a team with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Mitchell with the ball! Next tournament is in two weeks in Charlotte again. I am praying for cooler weather even though I am sure it will be even hotter.

Mitchell is totally obsessed with Lacrosse. If he is not in the pool, he is practicing. Last week, I went outside and took a few photos.

There will a lot of Lacrosse photos this summer as well as pool photos. That is what our life is full of, pools and Lacrosse games!

CRASH!

On Saturday, Vinny and I were driving to Charlotte for Mitchell's Lacrosse tournament. We were about 40 miles from home, in Gaffney, when I saw a big tire fly out from under a huge semi. It was headed straight for us. I tried to swerve to miss it but I had not where to go. According to the witnesses, they thought I was going to roll.

The police said he was amazed that the tire did not go through the windshield which would have killed Vinny. It was a scary event but I feel very blessed that we were not injured. I am quite sore but my Vinny is fine!

This is not the actual semi that lost it's tire. I just wanted to show where the tire came from.

Now, Charlie was already in Charlotte which is an hour from Gaffney. I wanted to get there to see Mitchell play at least one of his two games. So, I met a nice man who also drove a semi and he offered to drop us off in Charlotte. I know the owner of the trucking company and he was the nicest guy. So, we hitched a ride.

I am not going to mention his name in case someone knows him. He could get in trouble.

Vinny got to sit on the cabs bed for the ride.

No word on the damage report yet. I am hoping it can be fixed. I love that van. 

YOU GO GIRL~

As you, my one reader (yes, you Anna) knows, Mitchell plays Lacrosse. What you may not know is that Vinny is now interested in this fun sport. Last Monday, she went to the first day of Lacrosse camp. The coach of our girls high school Lacrosse team is putting on a free camp with the hopes of getting young girls interested in the sport.

So, after a very expensive trip to Academy Sports, she was ready. The only bad part of this camp is the time. It is on Mondays from 2-4. There is no shade and when the real feel is around 100, well, you can imagine how hot it is. Now, for the photos...

And more throwing. Yes, she did it perfectly. After our weekend adventure, she is a little sore so we are hoping she feels good enough to go today! I hope you had a better weekend than we did. More on that tomorrow.

BYE, BYE GLASSES!

I took Vinny in for a sports physical so she could play Lacrosse. When the nurse asked her to read line 8 with her glasses on she squinted and then looked at me and said, "I think I need my eyes checked". Then the doctor told her that she would not be able to wear her glasses while playing. So, she got her yes checked and her vision is now 20/400 in both eyes. The good news is she loves her new contacts!

Is she not the most beautiful young lady in the whole world? I think so!

MEMORIAL DAY!

On Memorial Day, we had Patrick's girlfriend Maddy and her dad, step mom and 1/2 brother over for a barbecue. It was hard not to take a million photos since Mr. Parker is so adorable!
