Fist off, I forgot to post a photo from our swim party! It is  just too good to forget.

Every year, Carowinds, an amusement park in Charlotte, has a music festival. This festival is the big trip for our Orchestra.  This was held on the day of the big tornadoes in North Carolina. We only had an hour of bad rain. After that, it turned out to be a beautiful day. I only took a few photos.

Charlie took a little nap during one of the songs. The Orchestra received the highest rating, Superior. We were so proud.

FIRST SWIM PARTY OF 2011!

Around April 1st the kids start checking the temperature of the pool. On April 14th the water hit around 75. Warm enough for the kids! A few friends came over to join in on the fun!

SPARTANBURG SINGS PART 2!

Now for the last three videos from Spartanburg Sings. The Civil War song is where the trio sang. I only got the last part.

   

 

SPARTANBURG SINGS!

A couple of weeks ago, Mitchell was one of 8 children from our middle school selected to perform in the first annual Spartanburg Sings. The Rotary Club put this event on to raise money for at risk youth. The children rehearsed Friday and Saturday and then performed Saturday afternoon. I was once again, a chaperon which means I have photos and videos...

Mitchell, his friend Chandler (in green) and one other young man were chosen to do a trio part in one of the songs. This was during rehearsal. When I went to video the solo, my battery died.

CONCERT FESTIVAL!

A few weeks ago, Vinny and her Orchestra participated in an Orchestra Festival. They played a few songs and were judged. They did a great job and received Superior Ratings which is the highest rating possible. I was asked to go along as a chaperon. 

This is the 7th Grade Orchestra. Their teacher is the beautiful and very pregnant lady in black. We stopped for lunch at Fudruckers before the festival.

MIA!

Sorry I have been MIA for the past two days! Vinny and I went on a little girls trip to Folly Beach to see some friends from Utah. I decided not to take my computer so I could just relax and enjoy our two days. I have lots of photos to post after I have done some editing. For now, I am going to post a couple of videos from National Honor Choir. These videos are from the dress rehearsal. We were not allowed to take photos or video the actual performance.  Mitchell is in the second to back row with a black t-shirt on. Enjoy!

   

 

LAST LACROSSE!

The last lacrosse game of the season was a beautiful March 19th day! Patrick took some amazing photos of Mitchell, number 29 with the black helmet.

Our team lost but it was a great game and a fun/short season. Next up, club lacrosse all summer!

READY FOR OUR OWN CAKE SHOW!

Vinny and I love to watch Ace of Cakes, Amazing Wedding Cakes and Cake Boss. She has wanted to make a real cake with Fondant for almost a year now. A few weeks ago, during spring break, I went ahead and spent way too much money on supplies and let her go crazy! Her friend Raven was over and together they created an adorable and yummy cake!

The inside. The top layer was chocolate and the bottom was yellow. It lasted almost three weeks and I finally threw the rest away! 

Next up, and Easter cake. I forgot to wish my beautiful stepdaughter happy birthday! Bryan, we all love you!
